Couldn't figure out why good, successful, third party games like Sleeping Dogs and Arkham City would come out on PlaystationPlus? What's in it for developers/publishers I wondered. Do Sony pay them something? I was very pleased I got this "free" with PlaystationPlus. Now I see their clever plan. When you feel you got a game for nothing, the DLC suddenly looks reasonable. I don't mind spending £5 on some DLC when the game cost me nothing (AND YES! I know it cost me the plus subscription of a measly £35 a year or whatever it is, but believe me, it feels like nothing compared to what I've got for it). Well played Sony.

I liked it a lot. It was that kind of game that doesn't actually need to be perfect about everything. The storytelling was great, the fighting was SO much fun, it just never bored me one bit. Maybe about 60% more fun than I expected. :) Hell, i even did ALL of the Karaoke songs :D (and girls just wanna have fuhuuuun.......damn you sleeping dogs for that earworm) I am really looking forward for second game. I would love to see how Wei Shen's story goes on.

Sleeping Dogs is one of the biggest surprises of last year. After The Walking Dead, I was looking for a game that would pull me into its story and get me invested. Sleeping Dogs did that. I never even touched the side-missions because I was so invested in the narrative. PS. Thank you, PS+.

I got it to play a bit more of Sleeping dogs, but it doesn't have a story, it doesn't have combat. It's just you running around from one fight with chinese zombies to the same fight with chinese zombies. And it's very frustating because you only can fight chinese zombies with one attack and they are trying to grab you all the time.

As the greatest gamer out there, i can speak for all my fellow players, we need more DLC. With lives full of obligations, why would we play games that last for 20 or 30hours ? Just make every game at 6-10hours and add a lot of DLC. We don't mind paying 30$ for something good.

Let's examine your sophistication: You want games to be shorter, and you want companies to charge for content that should have been in the game. So you want people to pay $60 -- £40 where I come from -- and then pay for extra content which should have been in the game. Not all of us are millionaires, I'm afraid. Actually its kinda disappointing because its short. You gotta agree with this the last part felt rushed and it ended too soon after the climax. Still the story was really well written and I might get super down-voted for saying this but this game was streets ahead of GTA4.

I enjoyed it more than GTAIV's story, too My only problems with the game's story are to do with pacing, and unusual character decisions. Winston trusts Wei Shen far too quickly, and is already talking of passing him the torch, even though Wei Shen had only just proven himself. And the pacing was a little awkward. The first act was slow, and nothing really happened. The second act was fantastic, with all the best moments taking place. And the third act -- while not as good as the second -- was good enough, but was kinda dragging. And the ending was a little rushed.

KOA wasn't underrated - just flawed. Spec Ops was praised by a lot of people. Sleeping Dogs was hardly noticed/talked about so it was underrated the most.

Educated purchases and generous Steam sales greatly mitigate any chance a cautious buyer would want to return a game. Some people still have pride in maintaining a game library, digital or not. Only downside is not being able to lend software, but this leads to friends taking recommendations and strengthening the industry.

I guess some people buy games like some people watch movies. Once they get through it, they're not likely to pick it up again. I freely admit I don't relate to these people at all. I buy games because I hear or know they're excellent and keep them for a rainy day. It doesn't make sense for me to play rinse, resell, repeat with products I genuinely marvel at. That and GameStop's shameless pricing of pre-owned games (usually a few dollars off the current retail pricing of a fresh copy) is a false positive, and a detriment ot the industry. No running from trends. The reality is most people who buy games don't behave the way I do, conducting research, reading reviews, etc. before I decide to buy something I know I'll really like. More people on this site may relate, but the wider pool of buyers play it more loosely and resell their games habitually. To me that's kind of a shame, but I can't judge their relationship with the products.

I agree, even though I don't play most of games anymore, I still enjoy being able to play any of my 350+ games on Steam. I prefer to have my game library digital, the few physical copies I have left are collecting dust in a box somewhere.

I got used to digital libraries through Steam. Knowing the benefits, I can see it being the template of the future. If the PS4 is all about interconnectivity and has a PSN smartphone app that helps me keep track of products, I can get used to that too, so long as pricing is competitive and compelling. Too often, console-based digital stores are aggressively gouge-happy, as they are (generally speaking) targeting less PC-savvy consumers who are less likely to bargain hunt and comparison shop the crap out of the proper Internet. As is, I can't warm up to console digital markets. It's all a bit too enclosed for me to feel good about. The prices are too high. $60 for a download of a recent retail release? I'd rather get a hard copy for the same price. Blu-ray discs are incredibly tough, and nobody can take a game disc away from you. With Steam, the great prices and built-up convenience make up for the lack of hard media.

I should have mentioned, but used games indirectly can help a developer - since they are often used immediately towards purchase of a new game the person might not have bought otherwise. That's why I wanted to see the PS4 have backwards compatibility - because trading in the PS3 console or its games could have gotten a ton more PS4s sold and into players hands.

Do you like GTA? The gameplay is very similar, but I think the hand to hand combat is better in Sleeping Dogs. Not quite as much to do as in a GTA game, but I think it was easily worth the price of admission.

Yes it is it takes place in Japan and the realism is pretty cool along with the Bullet time type action moments while driving. If you do get it play the side missions there is a lot to do. If you don't take advantage of the whole game it might feel like you ran right through it. The main story runs about 20 hours. It cost me $27 at newegg about three months ago. This new content really will add to it I'm hoping. Watch some game play videos.

Maybe about 60% more fun than I expected. :) Hell, i even did ALL of the Karaoke songs :D (and girls just wanna have fuhuuuun.......damn you sleeping dogs for that earworm) I am really looking forward for second game. I would love to see how Wei Shen's story goes on.

And it's very frustating because you only can fight chinese zombies with one attack and they are trying to grab you all the time.

Actually its kinda disappointing because its short. You gotta agree with this the last part felt rushed and it ended too soon after the climax. Still the story was really well written and I might get super down-voted for saying this but this game was streets ahead of GTA4.

I enjoyed it more than GTAIV's story, too My only problems with the game's story are to do with pacing, and unusual character decisions. Winston trusts Wei Shen far too quickly, and is already talking of passing him the torch, even though Wei Shen had only just proven himself. And the pacing was a little awkward. The first act was slow, and nothing really happened. The second act was fantastic, with all the best moments taking place. And the third act -- while not as good as the second -- was good enough, but was kinda dragging. And the ending was a little rushed.

I guess some people buy games like some people watch movies. Once they get through it, they're not likely to pick it up again. I freely admit I don't relate to these people at all. I buy games because I hear or know they're excellent and keep them for a rainy day. It doesn't make sense for me to play rinse, resell, repeat with products I genuinely marvel at. That and GameStop's shameless pricing of pre-owned games (usually a few dollars off the current retail pricing of a fresh copy) is a false positive, and a detriment ot the industry. No running from trends. The reality is most people who buy games don't behave the way I do, conducting research, reading reviews, etc. before I decide to buy something I know I'll really like. More people on this site may relate, but the wider pool of buyers play it more loosely and resell their games habitually. To me that's kind of a shame, but I can't judge their relationship with the products.

I agree, even though I don't play most of games anymore, I still enjoy being able to play any of my 350+ games on Steam. I prefer to have my game library digital, the few physical copies I have left are collecting dust in a box somewhere.

I got used to digital libraries through Steam. Knowing the benefits, I can see it being the template of the future. If the PS4 is all about interconnectivity and has a PSN smartphone app that helps me keep track of products, I can get used to that too, so long as pricing is competitive and compelling. Too often, console-based digital stores are aggressively gouge-happy, as they are (generally speaking) targeting less PC-savvy consumers who are less likely to bargain hunt and comparison shop the crap out of the proper Internet. As is, I can't warm up to console digital markets. It's all a bit too enclosed for me to feel good about. The prices are too high. $60 for a download of a recent retail release? I'd rather get a hard copy for the same price. Blu-ray discs are incredibly tough, and nobody can take a game disc away from you. With Steam, the great prices and built-up convenience make up for the lack of hard media.

True, you can. However I wouldn't want to participate in a part of a business that by its very nature harms developers who make the games I enjoy playing. If used game sales had to give a portion of the proceeds to devs/publishers, then I'd be a lot happier with it.

I should have mentioned, but used games indirectly can help a developer - since they are often used immediately towards purchase of a new game the person might not have bought otherwise. That's why I wanted to see the PS4 have backwards compatibility - because trading in the PS3 console or its games could have gotten a ton more PS4s sold and into players hands.

If I'd buy a game for 60$ then sell it for 20$ I'd paid 40$ for it. Instead, I buy my games for 30$. I've saved 10$ AND I still have the game. That sure sounds better to me.

I traded in 30 of my old PS3 games I hadn't played in over a year and never would. It gave me $350 to put towards a PS4 preorder. So yeah, it does make a difference, better then having 30 odd digital games sitting there doing nothing.

And here I am, paying 30$ per game and saving 30$ per game compared to console game prices. 30$ x 30 = 900$ saved and could be put towards a PS4 if I wanted one. And I still get to keep the games.

It's also funny that gamestop usually has huge promotions for trade-ins towards the next console release dates - and he traded in early missing out on a massive amount of credit he could have gotten. So pretty much that cornflour guy did everything wrong possible.

Do you like GTA? The gameplay is very similar, but I think the hand to hand combat is better in Sleeping Dogs. Not quite as much to do as in a GTA game, but I think it was easily worth the price of admission.

Yes it is it takes place in Japan and the realism is pretty cool along with the Bullet time type action moments while driving. If you do get it play the side missions there is a lot to do. If you don't take advantage of the whole game it might feel like you ran right through it. The main story runs about 20 hours. It cost me $27 at newegg about three months ago. This new content really will add to it I'm hoping. Watch some game play videos.

Why is it, that these story conclusion DLC's are always the last pieces of DLC to be released?! Where's the logic in that? Do the developers really expect us to go re-buy their games just so we can play the (likely) mediocre DLC and 'complete' the story we've already paid for?! Seriously... SCREW YOU... Why would you get rid of the game after completing it? I think the developers expect that it'll still be in our hands. I never get rid of my games that I think are great, one day I'll get around to play it again or play a future DLC in this case
