Why you should get HP ExpertONE Certification

Printing articles to read them is the way of the future.

I printed your comment before I replied, so I guess it works!
Chris Herbert · CTO at Phone Halo
John Biggs I tried to print this but I ran out of ink! Damnit I need the ink replacement service. where can I sign up?!?
Simon George
I have no idea what either of you said because I couldn't print your comments. "PC LOAD LETTER"

Will the auto printed content contain ads? Because unless it does, I don't want it.

printed ads? its gonna be hard to click!

I won't be buying HP printers again...this summer I had difficulty getting a new HP printer to work with my computer...tech support went to India and a man that I had difficulty understanding...that was not the problem, after an hour and the diagnosis-- I was told this man could get this new HP printer to work on my computer AND take care of all my tech needs for a year for something like 200-300 dollars...i said," I bought a 75 dollar printer and it is going to cost over $200 to get it to work?"...that was pretty much it...i returned the printer and bought an Epson...it was pathetic...
Margie Taggart Kleemeyer
Don't buy HP computers had just as crappy of luck!!!
Doug Hardee
This could be part of why HP has seen it's market share crash. Think I read an article stating they were getting out of the PC market entirely in the next year. Way to ruin what used to be a good brand with this kind of junk.
Rebekka Cee
Margie Taggart Kleemeyer I agree w/ both of you, my 2 yr. old HP PC died . . motherboard. I purposely went with HP thinking it was higher quality than Gateway... now I'm back to using my previous Gateway till I can afford a new PC . . it won't be HP again.

I just wonder when printer manufuacturer's will deal with the fact that its cheaper to buy a new printer than ink for the one you already have? Why doesn't someone fix that first?
Kevin Hudson · Top Commenter · Xavier University
Deal with it? They set it up that way on purpose. You buy a printer at a price that is far less than what it costs them to make it, but then they get their money back and more in ink refills. If you wanted to "fix" that, then printers would be hundreds or thousands of dollars, and no one would buy them after being used to paying under $100 for a decent printer.
Brenda Pearson Millet · Jacksonville, Florida
I have been having my ink cartridges refilled for the past year. Works as good as a new one. And HP sucks.

Kevin Hudson I get it...But i suspect that many folks wouldn't mind the, say $300-400 per printer if the ink was say $5-10 for a new one. The expensive part is the print head as part of the cartridge. It's a solvable problem, but everyone wants to protect those profits.
To me its the same long term vs short term thinking that seems to run through too many industries
Scott Miller · Indiana State
HP, you're about to lose my printer business. And I've purchased HP printers exclusively since 1993. If you continue with these inane business propositions, my next printer will be an EPSON.
Now LISTEN TO ME: If you want to sell more ink. Lower the cost. You're welcome.
Joe Bosley · Shipper at Hollingsworth & Vose Co.
Once again H P is acting like our government, just a big rip off. Hey.. I have a good idea! Lets give free ink to the illegal aliens.
Kevin Hudson · Top Commenter · Xavier University
And while we're at it, let's elect socialists and blame conservatives for everything from hurricanes to murder attempts! Oh wait..
Sean K. Friese
Kevin Hudson - Conservatives *do* cause hurricanes. Just read about it in an article I found sitting on my printer!
Chris Acky · Top Commenter · Indianapolis, Indiana
The satarical tl:dr version of their News release. http://tinyurl.com/3zzenqh
HP Spokesperson: "Yes, we appreciate that Ink is so expensive, that's why we have released the Instant Ink program. Subscribing will get you cheaper Ink deliveries automatically whenever you are low! And what's more, we are going to throw in an awesome new content delivery service to your subscription.
What this means is that while you are sleeping, we will print off the latest articles by our spam partner Con-Nasty (sic), at the highest possible print quality settings we can, there will be so much Ink on the paper that it will feel like you are reading an actual high gloss magazine!
So why wait? We know Ink is expensive, so subscribe to Instant Ink for $9.99 a month and qualify for cheaper Ink! We'll send out replacement cartridges right after we've finished printing as much spam as we automatically can!"
Lyndell Kenley · O'Donnell High School
I've been a loyal HP customer for years. I've got old ones stacked in the backroom like cordwood.
I won't be buying any more. What I resent is that they shove commercials at you faster than a TV network.
They come with crap loaded on them that I don't want and after you get it installed they just keep shoveling crap. Also I would like a printer with BIG ink cartridges at a reasonable price. I spend $80-$150 a month on those little piddly ink cartridges. Come on, quit screwing us on ink.
Kodak came out with the promise of cheap ink, but their machines were crap. After a couple of days I threw.
mine in the dumpster.
Dee Hanson · Point Park
I agree with choking on commercials. When I registered my latest HP Printer, I un-selected all subscription and mailer sign-ups. I still received dozens of flyers in the mail and emails from other companies, like SnapFish, thanking me for signing up through HP.
Leanne Thomas · Works at Student
If you don't need color, the ones that have a'toner' cartridge work great and last quite a while
George Blank · Top Commenter · Memphis State University
Dee Hanson --why would anyone register a printer or any other pece of equipment???
John Edward Hamler IV
HP used to be a really High End Electronics Manufacturer....Now they just STINK!
Steve Hoefer
They also tried it in '99. Print your news every morning complete with advertising. They had an adorable dog mascot. It was universally regarded as stupid then and the only thing that's changed in the last 12 years is how stupid the idea is. (hint: it's not less.)

why does HP keep failing at business models?
Michael Quimby · Works at Sauder Woodworking
Overall they haven't failed yet. They have a lot of screwing people over left in them.
Sheena Allana · Top Commenter · UC Davis
I was more surprised by the Mssrs than anything else in this article..
In any case, such a service would be useless for me seeing that my *NEW* HP Printer can't even print a page properly without jamming up. What rubbish.

I refuse to ever again purchase an HP product. A few years ago, I placed a non-HP replacement ink cartridge in my printer (it had worked in an older HP printer with no problems). HP was able to totally freeze my computer until I replaced it with their cartridge.
Diondre Jenkins · Works at Amerika Birleşik Devletleri Kara Kuvvetleri
HP customer service is outrageous. Every time I get some guy in india who has no idea what he is doing except for the fact that he knows how to charge me for something else.

glad i don't have to call...*knocks on wood*

I heard that they may get out of the computer manafacturing business.
I wonder if THE reason is they are loosing sales of ink to places that give a full ink cartridge over HP's quarterfull cartridge?
Alex Cuervo
is this a joke?

Who needs a Post Office..We can get junk mail straight from our printers.

Good-bye HP printer. I'll be buying a new printer before I ever give HP another cent of my hard-earned $$$.
Willie Moore

HP was in the book "Built to Last" and rightfully so. Considering the poor leadership they have had and continue to have, this once venerable company has lasted, and in better shape than most. But that won't go on forever. Look at Kodak...

I refill my own cartridges..very cheap and very effective.

HP is no longer a brilliant tech company with sharp people inventing wonderful items that benefit people.
Now it has become a Carnival huckster style of business selling tech-snake oil.Consumer articles say 19 ml of ink in an inkjet cost $65,000 per gallon!
Tech service is a cruel joke.. I lost hours of my time trying to get my bad inkjet printer replaced under it's extended warranty..they determined the print head was bad and the printer would be replaced after I faxrd in the required data..which I promptly did the following morning. New printer never arrived. I contacted "tech support a number of times and was put on hold, then on chat with someone from a foreign country, talked with the "manager" and a "supervisor"..who agreed that yes, my printer would be replaced. It NEVER was replaced.
I had replaced all the cartridges with new HP cartridges per their instructions during a tech-chat and had performed all the troubleshooting per their instructions and they detrmined that the printhead was bad and the printer would be replaced. Lie, Lies, and more lies.
So the damn thing, with new print cartridges installed, sits in my garage. A hunter friend of mine has offered to blow it up with his hunting rifle while another friend of mine takes a nice video.
I have no love, trust, or respect for HP any more.

Take your HP printer or any brand printer to Office Max and trade it in for a new printer (any brand) that is on sale and with the $50.00 you get for trading in your printer you can get a new printer for about $20-$30.
And if you buy the same brand your trading in you won't have to reinstall any drivers just unplug the old printer and plug in the new printer. Cheaper than buying ink.
Kip Wells
The expense of ink versus actual value (how many prints you can get, how long it will last especially after opening, and the cost of ink versus the cost of a new printer) is why I will never use ink jet printers EVER again. This junk ad scheme is just icing on the cake. I use laser printers or write it down by hand. Though laser printer toner is more expensive, you get a higher yield, you don't have to worry about toner drying out and good quality laser printer equipment can be considered more of an investment than a disposable commodity.
