Over iPhone And iPad Patents: Apple Sues Samsung In Japan

Dave Thornton
Apple should get a live. Saying the SGS looks like there phone, well I'm sorry but, my car looks like everybody else's car! But you don't see car makers suing each other! The same could be said for just about every item manufactured, toasters, kettles the list goes on and on.

I sincerely hope that the world turns on Apple for these continued anti-competitive frivolous lawsuits. Probably too much to hope for that it might convince the world to re-think software and process patents completely, though.

You don't think we should let the courts decide wether they are frivolous or not?

Hell no, courts are for clowns. Apple should stop the bullshit and just keep working on making the very best device they can. Android will continue to grow and grow this isn't go to stop that trend.

I've said this elsewhere, but I am dying to hear how the "you can't sell your phone, because it looks just like our phone" argument is going to play in Japan. Have you seen Japanese mobile phones? If looking alike was a problem, I have to imagine that half the phones would have to be pulled off the market!

Sounds like $1.3M USD is a drop in the bucket for Samsung. I have been following them like a hawk and since the press conference in NYC last week, the stock soared around %5 within two days of announcement of American launch of GS2 on London Stock Exchange (ticker SMSN for those interested.) TouchWiz 4.0 looks awesome and I am all for "pure" Android devices like the Nexus S and soon to be released Nexus Prime. The Tab looks and operates nothing like the iPad devices and I think that the governments and powers-at-be are still caught up with the fact that the iPad was the first mass produced and revolutionary tablet to come to the consumer (even though Microsoft has tried and failed a few times to grab the interest of these consumers with their own tablets years before.) People who want a tablet say, "I want an iPad" because this devices has become synonymous with tablets and Android competition are not getting the chance they deserve as for just that reason - because Apple is trying desperately to monopolize the market.

Leave Samsung alone Apple. The GS2 devices have outsold you hardcore worldwide and that's scary for the one's that are slowly losing market share to Android devices worldwide. Oracle has a semi-legitimate reason for suing Google, but that is an entirely different topic...

Same old story. There is no more creativity. Disney decides to sue Sony or Fox because one animation looks like there's. Buys the muppets, anime, and pixar. HTC sues Apple, AT$T sues Google for Motorola. Apple sues these company. Verizon sues Apple and AT&T and Yahoo is for sale and no reserves listed with Ebay. Instead of creating jobs. Now I know why law schools are crowded.

Dear Apple, stop the bullshit.

Yours Sincerely, The World.

I'm quite surprised at this. I don't think they are similar enough to justify banning the Tab. I'm an iPhone user and I prefer it over Android for a number of valid reasons. But I found the android to be very different when I had the opportunity to use one for a day. I decided to stay with iPhone.
I may not have an understanding of the patents involved, but surely they can work out a deal. I enjoy apple products, but beating down their competition in this manner would only be counterproductive for them in the long run. But their wins in Europe would only strengthen their resolve.

I just got a $829.99 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prices at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37" HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for. I use Bidsget.com.

This looks like an attempt on the part of Apple to stall competition because Apple don't need $1.3 million.

This action helps HP and will help sell more HP TouchPad which are currently being sold at $235. http://pnoy.me/9F
