What's the Future of the Hulk?
yellowheadco.
The 2008 Incredible Hulk movie is massively underrated.
thefortyfourth.
Agree 100%
Dr_Octavius.
110% It was awesome and I boycotted it due to Ang Lee's garbage film. I've dvd'd it four times , very under rated and possibly the most tie ins to the Avengers with out ruining the standalone aspects of the film.
SpacemanSpliffz.
So is Bana's version of Hulk.
sharkpaul.
Norton's the BEST Banner portrayal yet (no disrespect for Ruffalo's take, I like it).

trup1aya4rea1.
Hulk can pick it up
Nerwrax15.
Plenty of people are "worthy" of picking it up. Like Captain America and the babelicious Storm.
AaricRivad.
They really need to stop letting people lift the hammer. At this point, it's more of an insult to the people who can't than a credit to the people who can.

babelicious. that's the coolest word ever

Superman did that (once in JLA/Avengers).

I was thinking they should have put Banner/Hulk in Iron Man 3, to continue that bromance between him and Stark shown at the end of the Avengers. Ah well, as long as we're getting more Ruffalo.
Capamerica1244.
Hey, we do have the hulkbuster already...
ghostdog6891.
Argonauts Sometime after the Extremis transformation, during an attack by the new Super-Adaptoid, Tony Stark realized he could command several armors at once. Building on this, and realizing the world was becoming an increasingly dangerous place, he decided to construct a "team" of Iron Men—hyper-advanced drones that would be under his direct mental command, just as his own armored body. Unfortunately, the "Argonauts" were abused and destroyed before they ever could serve for good. They included: "Space Ghost": space-flight capable, could reach low Earth orbit under its own power; nearly impossible to detect espionage model; possibly intended as a satellite-killer. "Submariner": streamlined for great speed underwater; capable of using the ocean itself as a weapon, it apparently unleashed several tsunamis, and was able to overpower Namor, the Submariner, under water - an incredible feat. "Adamantium Man": equipped with practically indestructible "Stark-Chobham" armor, an experimental composite of carbon nanotube-reinforced ceramics, laced with adamantium. "Digger": enormous drone, possibly over a hundred tons; equipped with (shielded) Antarctic Vibranium (which dissolves any metal) helmet dome and a specialized repulsor/unibeam system which allowed it to tunnel at incredible speed. "Hulkbuster II": also a massive drone, ostensibly designed mainly for raw power and toughness, to take on the Hulk. It proved entirely capable of taking on the Avengers. Like its predecessor, Hulkbuster II bore a distinct resemblance to Juggernaut. While extremely powerful, the drones were useless once Tony Stark rendered himself clinically dead. I think this fits in well with the new trailer
dende5416.
I was thinking more of a solo Hulk movie with Banner working at an isolated Stark lab out in the desert where they used to do weapon tests. An excuse to work Amadeus Cho into the facility, and having the Hulk fight giant Scorpions and maybe having the Leader as the villain.
Dr_Octavius.
Good call i would want to see aspects of his psychotherapy with Doc Sampson as well
Dr_Octavius.
it should be like Brokeback Mountain and the first hulk.
adriano1995.
What's happening is quite similar to what happened in the character's comic story istelf, first it got a series that didn't last a year and then it found success in Avengers and received its oun series some time after
waluigibros.
The Incredible Hulk was my favourite solo phase 1 film.
McMuguets.
That movie was great, I was hoping to see the sequel with The Leader in it..
Dr_Octavius.
Me to , when his brain and skull stretched I was like " YES!!"
trup1aya4rea1.
Am I the only one who liked Incredible Hulk? I don't think it gets nearly enough credit. Norton was a better Banner than Ruffalo, and the action scenes were near perfect.
ZEMANATOR.
IT's my second favorie phase one movie. I thought the action was absolutely awesome.I also prefer when Banner is trying to get rid of The Huk than accepting him.
SpacemanSpliffz.
Norton wasn't a better Banner. Bana nailed the frustration of never being able to get angry, and when he did get angry, it was waaay more believable than Norton's "mneeeehhh you don't want to make me angry". I found the Hulk from Incredible to be a crappy caricature of the comic, didn't look realistic. On the other hand, Bana's Hulk showcased the inner struggles of Banner much more eloquently than Incredible or Avengers did. Ruffalo did a great job, I'm not bashing him but all these movies since Ang Lee's version completely miss the struggle of how he is to a)live with being the Hulk, and b) how he copes with the reality of consequences as a result of the Hulk. Also, I found it sort of lame that Ruffalo can just change into the Hulk whenever he wants, that takes away from Banner's character in ways I don't even want to start to explain.
trup1aya4rea1.
In ang lee's movie, the choreography was abysmal. it was horrible. In a movie about the Hulk, at last get the action right. I'm not saying Bana wasn't good as Banner, I'm saying Norton was better than Ruffalo. Incredible Hulk was a great mix of good acting and good action.
TheFalloutFella.
I liked Norton better. I often think the dynamic of the Avenger's movie would have been a little different if he had stayed on board.
JarJarBlinks.
The future of Hulk is Jar Jar Binks and Hulk buddy cop movie.
WhiteySpidey.
HULK vs Wolverine - it's the simplest, easiest way for two different studios to co-promote with Marvel characters.
waluigibros.
I wanted a new Hulk movie... Then I read 26 articles on IGN, and lost interest. EDIT: the article mentions the desire for a Black Widow movie, I just think it would have been nice to hear that opinion, and ideas associated with it.
fellow72.
Ruffalo is inked down for 5 or 6 additional marvel movies, can't remember the exact number. But this means that the chances of a hulk movie not happening are extremely slim. SO in other words, stop making these redundant articles lol. We all know it's going to happen, just not now... geez lol IGN
robbathehutt.
Every time I visit IGN there's a new story about the Hulk and each time in the end it's basically there are no current plans....I'm beginning to think the IGN staff thinks if they keep putting out new articles on the same topic it will eventually just happen.
JS.Lewis.
Interestingly enough, both Ang Lee's Hulk and The Incredible Hulk are two of my favorite Marvel movies (yes, I know 2003 Hulk had its problems, but I still love it). As much as I like the Hulk, I'm not in any rush for them to make a new movie about him. As long as he's in Avengers 2, I'll be satisfied.
applegamer.
What i've been saying all along is that the Thanos arc in Avengers 2 goes along as planned but at the end of the film, Hulk loses it and turns on the Avengers, possibly causing Ironman to activate the Hulkbuster, they stop the Hulk and send him off-planet and the planet hulk storyline starts for phase 3
thungbang.
With a hulk a solo movie taking place on the planet then Avengers three being World War Hulk.
MAS77.
which has already been debunked, as those movies have lots of Hulk but little to no Banner, and Marvel has Ruffalo signed on for 5 more movies. Any future Hulk movie will include a significant amount of Banner.
rarenriquez17.
I enjoyed The Incredible Hulk more than Thor or Captain America: The First Avenger. And I preferred Edward Norton's Banner over Ruffalo's. I liked the design better in TIH too, more than the one in The Avengers.
batman1hulk2.
The design in TIH was a rougher looking Hulk. A better Hulk. Louis Letterier said the Ang Lee Hulk was to smooth and bright green. Norton's Hulk was dark green and his skin looked stretched and abnormal as if he grew from a lean 6ft man into a bulky 8ft muscular man in a minute. It looked more realistic and part of Iron Man's world. The Avenger's Hulk was a cross between Ang Lee's Hulk and Louis Letterier's Hulk. But Letterier's is still the best.
magnusalpha.
The reason the Avengers hulk looked the way it did was the same reason the TIH version looked the way it did. In Avengers, Banner was older and more out of shape.
MAS77.
Well, kind of. Avengers takes place like one year after the events of TIH, so Banner really isn't that much older. In TIH, they wanted Hulk to be a creature of pure muscle, so you can constantly see his muscles flexing and stretching beneath his skin. In The Avengers, they decided not to make him look so muscled, so you could see a change when he's just standing there to when he tenses up to attack. They wanted to be able to see a difference when the Hulk is in action, so they took off some of the muscle definition.
JwarE5.
Am I the only one who wasn't that blown away by Ruffalo as banner? Maybe it's just cause he didn't have enough screen time for it to sink in but I still prefer Norton
LoveWaffle.
Let's not forget that the Hulk is also very expensive in large doses. It costs a ton to animate the Hulk and, more importantly, to have him smash. This is why Banner as the Hulk is only present in two or three times in any movie with him, including his solo adventures. Whedon asks how he can get an audience to root for a protagonist who spends his time trying to stop the reason they came to the theater; I ask how a movie can get an audience when the reason they're there can only be at most 20 minutes of the movie?
Shriiker.
I'm an animator myself and you wanna know why CGI costs so much? It doesn't. It's due to it being in high demand and it's a good source of money. It costs nothing but time and electricity. Animators have one of the hardest jobs though in perspective so they deserve the pay they get.
LoveWaffle.
they deserve the pay they get Which is why it costs so much. There's a difference between an expensive cost and an inflated one.
Supermax64.
"It costs nothing but time"... ya and people need to be paid hence why it costs so much.

buffalomike.
Ruffalo's contract has 6 movies in it. If he's not in anything in Phase 2 until Avengers 2, Phase 3 is gonna be one hell of a Hulk-centric phase.
digipy.
I think a hulk movie will always be hard because nobody really wants to be the hulk. The joy of superhero movies is living vicariously through that hero for a couple of hours. He will always work better in a supporting role. 2 hours of 'Hulk Smash!' gets old fast.
abyan23.
Doctor Banner, I think now might be a good time for you to get angry.
Nerwrax15.
That's my secret ab........I'm always angry.

For Yu fans out there, Yu will take a break for a month or two (resting, it's not easy to draw on a monthly basis, so please be considerate a bit). He'll be back by issue 9, according to one's close to him.

How ?and why? and what idiot? would dislike what you just said? There is no hope for the Humans.

Personally, I'd love to see a Hawkeye movie based on his current comic book. Its long past time to introduce Kate Bishop & of course Pizza Dog. That and a long overdue Black Panther film.

Raziel_The_Eternal.
I personally really liked the 2003 Hulk too. In context it was very different and stylised compared to the other Marvel movies of the time and really explored the themes behind the Hulk quite well. TIH on the other hand, with its homages to the dated old TV series, impressed me less. Now if Tim Roth's Abomination had been in the 2003 film instead of the Gamma dogs and third rate Absorbing Man, it would have been a lot better received. As the main criticism of the 2003 seems to be it wasn't "Hulk Smash" enough for those that think the character is nothing more than 'a monster who destroys stuff'.
Vengercam.
The hulk keeps sending me pictures of a massive, vein covered cucumber... That thing could feed my wife for a week,
Capamerica1244.
The rainbow connection, Whedon, Avengers, and Hulk!
dponeil.
Great ideas, Joey, but I got the impression at the end of Avengers, that neither Tony nor Banner wanted anything to do with SHIELD. I suppose an episode or two of the TV show could be SHIELD persuading him to come work for them.
kobe7777.
She-Hulk would work better then the Hulk. Don't have many women Superhero movies out there.......
jds6950.
Live action Ultimate Human adaptation with Iron Man and Hulk.
bonzaiburger.
i hope Hulk gets another movie with Ruffalo
dronevil.
I think the biggest problem with Hulk is that he's a purely cg character who can barely speak remedial English. It's difficult to write a main character who has no dialogue and only really exists in a computer. The finale of the Norton Hulk was boring to me because it felt like I was a watching a cutscene from a video game.
Ginjirou17.
I want hulk vs thor, Hulk vs wolverine with a good done deadpool and not that abomination we saw in the wolverine movie. AND PLEASE world war hulk! PLanet hulk! WE WANT THESE! As a hulk fan GIVE ME THESEEEEEEE
Ginjirou17.
I mean the planet hulk cartoon movie was super! They really got the hulk right there. He was under control of everything, he got fucked over by tony stark etc. And he raged, but not blindly, he raged with his mind and vision still clear. Still being able to talk as a human instead of just screaming like a gorilla
JTShiro.
The Hulk should only appear with other MCU characters in my opinion, they just don't have a great answer to make a compelling movie on his own (considering Planet Hulk seems off the table at this point)
wsamford.
Wow this article went nowhere. I mean maybe map out a few different possibilities of what direction they can go in.
jaguar_claw.
Hulk movies will always be mediocre at best because they make him way too indestructible so it's almost boring to watch him fight. Plus he can barely speak. If anything, they should make him a villain.
Nova-Force.
Ugh, it's not a Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's an Avengers Cinematic Universe. They've got the rights for Daredevil, Iron Fist, Moon Knight, Luke Cage, Nova, Inhumans but aren't using them and are only doing Avengers characters. It'll be Phase 13 before it becomes a Marvel Universe
MAS77.
they'll get there. So far, they were trying to build to Avengers, which is no easy task. they've got Guardians of the Galaxy coming up, which may have plot that ties into Avengers 2 but really isn't an Avengers film. With Dr. Strange coming up, who has been an Avenger before but isn't really known for that, we are getting more Marvel beyond the Avengers.
glh1871.
A solo Hulk movie won't work so in phase 3 they should drop him on Asgard for Hulk 2/Thor 3 or on Wakanda so they can introduce Black Panther. I think the only thing you can do with Hulk now is make him the "bad" guy
bouncingsoul217.
Joey can you figure out a good way for them to bring the Punisher into the movie universe?
Raziel_The_Eternal.
"Welcome back, Frank" adapted to the big screen? With Tom Jane back as Punisher
glh1871.
You think Disney would make a movie were the good guys whole thing is that he's technically a mass murderer
GreatDrag00n.
Disney did make Pirates of the Caribbean.

I know he did Iron Man, but I would love to see Jon Favreau direct the next Hulk movie. Favreau's one of my favorite directors. Truly a talented man.
