Xbox 360 November 25th 2011 Dashboard update.

Melissa Gumbs · St. Thomas FL
This still leaves European 360 console owners and XBox Live subscribers in the dark. Which is beginning to get quite annoying, considering we pay the same (if not more, after conversion) as North American subscribers. Bah.

Like we were with Spotify... You'll get it at some point.

James Curran The difference there, and the fallacy in your comparison, is that Spotify was/is a relatively small start-up company with limited funds. Making it hard, if not nearly impossible, to roll out a service all over the world in good time. Microsoft is one of the largest companies in the worlds, and should be able to roll out features in atleast the three major console markets (North America, Europe and Asia) somewhat around the same time.

There's no 'd'. It's just hegemony.

hegemony |həˈjemənē, ˈhejəˌmōnē|.
noun
leadership or dominance, esp. by one country or social group over others: Germany was united under Prussian hegemony after 1871.
ORIGIN mid 16th cent.: from Greek hēgemonia, from hēgemōn ‘leader,’ from hēgeisthai ‘to lead.’.

Partners such as HBO Go and Xfinity won't be in on launch. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/05/xfinity-verizon-services-miss-this-weeks-xbox-360-dash-update/

...which means at first we're not really getting anything new besides a new interface we have to learn. What fun.

Straker Carryer The new interface is really simple, and won't take you longer than a few minutes to learn.

Xbox is clearly a distant leader in living room. Hope Apple has something to compete this time after the previous generation Apple TV failure.

Failure? Apple always stated AppleTV was an experiment to see what the public responded to. Just because it hasn't sold at all outside the US (basically), there's no reason they haven't figured out exactly what they wanted from it.

Pradeep Viswav Can't really find any links but check out Steve Jobs first introduction (when it was still called iTV), he repeatedly called it a "hobby", and during conference calls and other meetings they have withstood those statements, calling AppleTV for a hobby, or if you will, an experiment.

As long as the consumer wins (good programming, affordable prices, choices), it's all good.

Nothing. In order to use the Comcast or Verizon apps you will have to be paying for their TV services already. No one is giving away free TV that isn't already availble on the web.

Too bad I don't watch tv. And putting it on my Xbox won't make me, unless it's free.
