How to wire subwoofers series, parallell, and series parallel wiring Review: Orb Audio Booster With Super Eight Subwoofer | TechCrunch
@Dan Koeppel
Interesting product. Any thoughts on speakers in the $150 range?

I love my Klipsch Promedia 2.1

Audioengine A2. Spend the extra 50 bucks.
@Dan Ruzhitsky
Jason Dorfman Yes, go with the Audioengine A2 if you don't care about bass
@Jason Dorfman
Dan Ruzhitsky The bass is "tight" but I look at that as a good thing. You can always buy a subwoofer later on.
@Dan Ruzhitsky
Jason Dorfman Well I suppose I bought my Promedia's at $70 so I am comparing that price to 200$
@Jason Dorfman
Dan Ruzhitsky I agree, there are great speakers for under $100. But the A2's are a safe bet, and are the way to go if you are looking for semi-affordable compact-yet-accurate monitors.
@Keith Posehn
While the Orb's are nicely designed, I would stick with a pair of the smaller M-Audio monitors like the BX5a (normally $399 but on Amazon for $149 right now). The main reason is that the Orb drivers are simple full-range, polypropylene cones. In this case, they won't quite reach the fairly crisper highs and deeper mid/low of a dedicated two-way (tweeter + mid/woofer) speaker. At this price point there are better options than the Orb's, but you do pay for it in increased desk space taken up and something that might not fit your design sense.
@Ron LeonGuerrero
Is this a joke? Someone must have paid to have this post written.
@Tasos Frantzolas
I personally find the design a little dull (the amp seems like it was designed by Kim Jong-il) And their site is boring too. If its not for audiophiles, not cheap and not visually attractive, who are these speakers for? Somehow this story doesn't fit on Techcrunch imo.
