(Fly or Die) LeapPad
Fly Or Die: The Leapfrog LeapPad | TechCrunch
@Rich Lopez
how can you compare an IPAD to this..STUPID! not even a fair comparison..
@Javier Marcos
Just because obviously the manufacturer is actually thinking it can be a substitute when: #1 your children don't stop claiming for YOUR iPad (natural¡) and #2 your budget is not wide enough to buy a 2nd iPad (so natural, too¡)...it's another question if little customers agree with that approach ;))
@Jarrett Heintz
Even the android? Sigh
@J.D. Caudle
Seriously? Why are you comparing a $99 toy designed for children under 10 to an iPad? It costs $99. It can be dropped. "You... Are... A... Toy!"
@Sam Riksfjord
Wtf dumb article.
@Ponni Tith
the guy on the left is an R-tarded reviewer.... this thing is designed for preteens... don't compare it to devices designed for adults DUMBASS.
@Tony Lettkeman
This was NEVER meant to be a replacement for an iPad. Clearly a GEEK article that overlooks the obvious. I have a kid that is just too young for his brother's Nintendo DS, but yet he LOVES his Leapster that looks and acts similar. Keeps him engaged on car drives and such and is educational. And I have been a computer geek for over 20 years. A device (toy) like this should stand on it's own merits, NOT comparing it to high-tech gadgets not meant for the little hands of LITTLE kids.
@Gordon Quinn
Good post. Kids love tablets and Leapfrog is trying to exploit that. BTW, with LeapPad the issue isn't just the lack of apps, it's also the average cost of available apps, IMHO.
@Clayton Blackham
I've been wondering why LeapFrog hasn't developed much for the iPad. I might be in the minority because I let my kids play with my iPad a ton. I realize the price tag is one reason; who wants to give their kids a $500 toy like that. But they should look at partnering with Amazon or B&N to develop on their platforms. That would make a ton of sense.
@Ed Crotty
For the TC crowd, you might find that the InnoTab is actually a bit more iPad-like. The LeapPad is still a good toy as well, and, the difference is the camera. And, kids like the built-in camera. But.. Innotab is more iPad-like overall. Tilt, speed, included apps, overall presentation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXOURgk71sk
