That Maslow slide makes me want to punch someone.

Maybe you should eat something? Your blood sugar may be down. Eating is after all one of the first stages of the Maszlow hierarchy of needs. Go ahead, we'll wait.
Doug Crets · Top Commenter · Self Employed at Dbc media
James Gee Gunaca Actually, she may have elevated the needs of humans to show how people empowered with mobile technology can use it to help others. But you weren't there, neither was I, this is TechCrunch, Life of Brian is in the Netflix queue, I am in Chiapas, and I think it's time for a slug of diet coke and a relaxing stroll out on the roof.
James Gee Gunaca · Top Commenter · San Francisco, California
Doug Crets well I appreciate your optimism. Enjoy your evening.
Eric Hth · Menlo Park, California
After this totally unrelevant powerpoint presentation now I understand that even leading VCs as KPCB has a very shallow view of the tech industry.

Top of the Maslow Piramid in 2012 "Being respected by Apple Siri"
Nancy Bryans-Nonva
It is no surprise that so many people still can't seem to move up the Maslow ladder. Basic needs - food, water, shelter are what the other half of the world are struggling to keep as constants in their lives. Here in the west we seem to forget about that and focus on the internet/mobile/phone issues. Globally we are so out of balance with each other and to succeed as global-humanity we need to stop spending so much time on our devices and figure out what we can do to help our global neighbors.

"It is difficult to make predictions, especially about the future"...
Having said that, some useful data is summarized in this deck. Good read.
Megan Alderete · San Francisco, California
Always a fascinating read. Glad Mary Meeker continues with her trends report post her MS days.
Lisa Engstrom Nisenson · Meredith College

Max Woolf querty will not be usurped for a very long time due to the very high user adaption
Eric Hth · Menlo Park, California
And trends prediction must come from what you have seen in real life, not from pointless graphics... Graphics must be used only to confirm your hypothesis.
Jon Finegold · Top Commenter · Massachusetts Institute of Technology
