Steve Jobs And Sean Parker's New Start Up

Once you go Mac, you never go Back.

Serge Stepanov · Top Commenter · San Francisco, California
I'll argue against that to no end (being a Mac, PC, Android and iOS user), but these frivolous discussions are a waste of time.

Ritwik Bose · Chennai, Tamil Nadu
Likewise Serge... I too use a Samsung Galaxy Tab (Android), Blackberry, iPod, have used iPhone, have tried my hands on Mac... Have systems which runs on Windows... But guess you didn't get the point here!!! I have seen MAC users struggling to get back to Windows... I'm not discussing but putting a simple point out... I'm not a die-hard fan of Apple, but tend to like the way they have walked on the path of innovations!! :)

Nice perspective piece. Something that's needed today amidst all the hypish headlines.

Very Good good headline! "Podfather" Just Love. It. ♥

John Boyd · Top Commenter · Partner at Rimon Law Group
He's built a great team so Apple will likely keep on a roll for a while. Apple TV likely the first test but the team will pass with flying colors. Apple Auto, Apple Appliance and Apple Robot less certain but a man can dream can't he.

Please don't compare Don Corleone, Obi-Wan Kenobe and the term Kwisatz Haderach again.. A very nice article in general, but that comparison is just silly and it's breaking my heart.

You know the Kubler-Ross Grief Scale? This article is at step one: Denial.

Steven Rossi · Top Commenter · Wheaton IL
Adam Curry might have something to say about that name being used for Steve Jobs!

Davy Kestens · Herk-de-Stad
Apple will continue to grow. The products rock, and so does Steve.

Sheena Allana · Top Commenter · UC Davis
I think you're mixing that up. Steve rocks, and so do his products. :P

Saurabh Mutha · Works at Alcatel-Lucent

Apple's future will be more interesting once we get past the iPad era and into iRobots - or whatever... http://www.cmswire.com/cms/mobile/steve-jobs-steps-down-welcome-to-the-new-apple-future-012499.php

Oh man your article is spot on, I just dumped sort of the same message on Macrumors. Actually I think his power and influence within the company only has become stronger. At the end of the day the Board of Directors is more powerfull then a CEO, who is just an employee at the top of the pyramid. Who has to make sure his lowerlevelled directors are doing their job. Tough and stressfull job with a lot of meetings, travelling and responsibilities.

Indeed he can no longer live up to the duties and expectations also described as "pressure", that will be Tim's concern from now on, he has to carry all the responsibilities when asked for by the outside world.

His vision can be written on a piece of paper behind a desk somewhere in his own comfort and passed through to Tim Cooke, his influences can be put in action by one single phonecall. Practically he doesn't have to do as much as he used to but technically he calls all the shots. He now can work from behind the scenes.

Actually he now is sitting on the thrown, considering he is the biggest shareholder of the company, Steve Jobs's power and influence has only become larger. Now he can watch things from a relaxer position and still arrange Apple's policy. So I think we don't have to be affraid that Job's vision and influence are gone.:-)

Poor Alan...how is he holding up with the "iQuit" news??

Sarah Kirn · Brown
He seems to be holding back the tears, at least in public... I let him know you were asking after him!

"and consistently staying a step or two ahead of the other guy. That’s not something that changes overnight."

I'm lol'ing.

Vinod Mehra · Sales Director at Expertech LLC [ Al Ghurair Group ]
Steve has done a tremendous job of bringing up Apple and paving the path. The next phase is the most challenging path.. maintaining the momentum. Hence on the flip side the game begins now and with Steve partly out of the game, Apple has selected the most appropriate candidate in Tim cook a veteran in sales and operations. good luck Tim...all eyes on you.

Monotosh Khamaru · Pune, Maharashtra
shouldn't we call him as iFather rather? ;)

Felix Sulla · Top Commenter · Rome, Italy
LOL, the “Podfather” is just hilarious! Thanks for a cool article among all the hysteria.

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, BidsGet.com.
