I know, it's happening all over again! Ever since that damn Tom Anderson resurfaced, things went sideways for social networking again....I wouldn't be surprised to hear he had a talk with the Zuck about what needed to be done :))

It's the beginning of the end! Although I love the new profile design, it is not going to work if people start cluttering it up with pictures/services like this. Also, the fact that users will end up cluttering their feeds and tickers because of the Open Graph is going to cause real person updates to get lost and in turn make the social network pointless. People are already complaining about information overload and most do not know how to stop their auto-sharing, or hide what they see from their friends.

If you are looking for a more professional Timeline Cover banner creator that doesn't have the MySpace type feel, you should check out http://www.faceitpages.com/facebook-timeline-cover.php.

"But what if you don’t have a good photo to feature there?"
Obviously the solution would be to use an even worse photo from a banner site, rather than uploading a good picture. Good work, T.C. You guys aren't encouraging this at all.

When Facebook officially launch this, I'll add a picture with MySpace's logo as a cover picture. My form of protesting.... :))

Call me when Facebook starts looking like this: http://j.mp/qiNNgK.
Till then, stop using "Facebook" & "MySpace" in the same sentence. Kthxbai.

Another cool site I recommend for profile coverz: www.profilecoverz.com.
Check this site. Its cool n simple. You don't have too use any apps which will steal your ids n informations. And I recommend techcrunch to mention this websites name too in any of your article. :)

I may be missing something and I haven't dug into this very deeply, but it's a downloadable application which means that while you might be able to customize your Facebook, no one else will be able to see that. Unless maybe if they're downloaded the application, too, although I'm not sure. With MySpace when you "junked" up your page it was for everyone to see. This looks like just a skin for you, which seems fine to me.

I have the same question. I started using something offered to me I thought because I was part of the FB Developer Network so my profile now uses the timeline look like within this article, but nobody else sees my profile like I do? It works fine, I like the new look, when can everyone else see the changes?

Dino Lang That's unfortunate. People always look to me for technical guidance and I wanted to give them heads up on what's coming. I think if they'd let the dev show their friends it could head off alot of moaning bad press.

Sarah and Tech Crunch family! No Lie, Rumor or Water cooler banter! If you Own or Admin. or even have a favorite Fanpage, then this concerns you. FB Official documentation states, that If you don't comply by Oct 1.(developers) FB Fans are not going to be able to view your content. You may have noticed a dropoff in traffic, lately already. Some people already have in other forums. Read full story: http://dld.bz/fbrudeawakening.

Why not just find a picture online and post it as a cover? How hard it that? Do people really need stuff like this handed to them..
