Too little, too late?

Yep. Flickr is one of Y!'s few remaining good properties but even that is going downhill. They had years to make a decent set of mobile apps and have some nice sharing features like Instagram but instead they half baked it in way too late.

OMG, what took them that long! I've already lost hope! Flickr is so neglected, it feels like there's just one developer working on it and the rest are just keeping the lights on. Yahoo! can never survive developing and delivering at this pace! I pay for Flickr, but I get better and more dedicated care from the free services. Get out of the lethargy mode, Yahoo!

Should have included a simple tool for reading text forum threads in groups. Groups are the most social area of flickr -- but they are dramatically slowing down recently. Giving people a way to stay active in the threads when they are not in front of their computer would have given flickr groups a boost that they really need right now.
Search is good in the app. The lightbox flip is nice too.
Recent activity should show the number of faves on each photo.
I would have used this a little I suppose, but as I've moved 95% of my social activity for photos to G+ at this point, I agree with Ben Floro who says too little, too late.

The photo app space in the Android ecosystem is already competitive with players like picplz and Streamzoo (my favorite) as well as Instagram announcing that there will be an Android app soon. Flickr for me is just too slow in getting into the mobile space but anyway, they do have members who are very hardcore photographers which they can leverage on to get their mobile app out.

They could have added a sync feature like Google Plus to make it more useful.
And it ignores your privacy settings that are set on Flickr.com.
It is a good effort for the first version.

not available in Thailand, so I assume all of Asia is blanked out also. Don't quite understand why they do this for free apps, #FAIL.
