the absorption of the atmosphere is too important at these frequencies. Nothing you can do about it, this is physics. So the range will sure be less than 1 meter, with line of sight between the transmit and receive.

What would be the range of such a link? probably a few centimeters only. Furthermore it would probably require a line-of-sight, so the possible range of applications is relatively limited (NFC most likely). Still, a nice achievement.
