Another nice exit for a deal clone site.

This market is going to become the next Credit Cards hype.

Check out Coupark - The best place to find group discount deals for all best deals in SG.

Robin, the Frankfurter Algemeine presents a fairly straightforward layout of who was in at the time of purchase (founders, Insight, Rebate and also Adinvest ("a small piece") and who left in the meantime (Hommels, Jung, Mangrove).

Redeem&Get - Daily Deals Made Easy
That is an interesting move from Google that throws up lots of questions about Google Offers.

What do you mean Mangrove and Adinvest didn't invest? Dailydeal was lying about a 10 million dollar VC? You can just do that? Wow! I know a certain startup that's getting millions in VC tonight!

why should they? coca cola isnt working on cars either, so why should google go offline?

Kevin Görner I didn't say Google needs to, but in general. People like me and probably you have the know-how to get online and make a living. BUT there are many others who only know physical labor. And Coca Cola is mostly Blue Collar work work for those in the distribution segment of the company.

What's with all the clones popularity? There are many sites that offer better service is you search. Look at http://www.hasadeal.com for one.

I get a strong feeling about Google being a staunch believer in "can't make it, buy it" Not sure how true this holds.

I think it is more about having to reinvent the wheel. If DailyDeal was successful, then it would make sense to acquire that.

Nick Fleker Felker Again, if it wasn't "that" successful why did Google acquire it? The name, the age of the business? These are a few things that confuse when it comes to Google. The guys usually acquire a product to shut it down some time later.

Sardar Mohkim Khan They might shut down DailyDeal, but the overall technology and familiarity with daily deals will be moved over to Google Offers.

I believe Groupon already has a pretty solid foothold in Germany. I may be wrong though.
