Today’s letters: No place in civilized society for those who view child porn
In reading the hysterical letters of protectors against the evils of child porn I could not help but think that until very recent time this was in fact the view widely held for homosexuals, and yet here it is, only some four decades since buggery was removed as a crime in Canada, that we now are obliged to accept the gay life style as legitimate as the heterosexual. While I have little doubt that man/boy or adult/child relations would ever attain social acceptability, we might at least acknowledge that persons 'afflicted' with this attraction are from a biological stand point no different than those who are sexually attracted to their own sex. The latter aberation is not only now deemed acceptable but, indeed, we are no longer even allowed to regard it as an aberation - unless we are talking about fish or animals. If homosexual individuals need neither punishment nor treatment why do we remain so hysterically vindictive towards those very few, who are, not by choice but by their underlying biology, attracted to children.
