Will Anonymous Hack Facebook? & Beware of Facebook Comments

Ryan Merket · Top Commenter · CEO & Founder at Appstores.com
Trolls trolling trolls...

Corey Myers · Top Commenter · Brandon, Manitoba
trolololololol

Brandon Mann · Top Commenter
haha! Appstores.com just got some great publicity!

Andres Carceller · London, United Kingdom
a bit of descentralised fun

Sergio Villarreal · Works at Google
Wait, so these anonymous comments are not visible to anyone that doesn't have the extension? That's severely limiting the troll market there if so.

Elin Blesener · Top Commenter · San Francisco, California · 1,149 subscribers
Ya, you have to have the extension to see the comments. There are about 6 plums, 1 corn, 2 tomatoes, 1 beet, 1 raspberry and 1 cherry commenting on this post right now..

Sergio Villarreal · Works at Google
o_O

*ssshhhh! they're watching us!*

Dean Blackburn · Top Commenter
So, basically, not anonymous, and not really actually even there. F...T...W?

Gordon Quinn · Top Commenter · Plano, Texas
I didn't drop out of TechCrunch comments because of the lack of anonymity, I dropped out because Facebook comments tech is such a big step backward from Disqus.

I still read the posts, but the conversations have moved on. Fred Wilson is right.

Bishop Coxcomb · Top Commenter · Fluffy University
A friend of mine made me a facebook for my dog as a joke. I am the fluffiest troll ever!

*woof*

Ayman Abdallah · Top Commenter
this is a good news for spam.
tsancio (signed in using Yahoo)
Do you have to post as a fruit? After all, most comments are from fruitcakes.

Rick Stratton · Top Commenter · Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Hey I finally made it onto TechCrunch!

Rick Stratton · Top Commenter · Milwaukee, Wisconsin
And I miss Disqus!

Wang Peihua · Jianghan University
Thanks for sharing this with all of us. Every girl has her most beautiful moment in the life just when you wear your own

Dav Yaginuma · Top Commenter
I preferred the underground comment system Why the Lucky Stiff created. Iirc you had to hack your /etc/hosts file to map -.---.- to an ip address and install a userscript to see the comments and you had to nominate websites to be included in the system.

Hardly anyone ever used it due to the Byzantine requirements, but I don't remember a single troll.

the gd ol dys, u must b old. lke ovr 35!

Cigar Law · Partner/Owner at H New Media
it's not 100% anonymous. If you deface/comment on a photo it shows up on the person's notifications.

Elvis Thomas · Davv indore
It's not like that, Defaceable not stored any personal details of defaced users so it's not shows up on the person's notifications.

Julie Williams
Spammers Playground, hope not!

Hassan M Hassan · Doing Good. at Raise5
Taking a page from LAL, more fruit is good for the Internet.

Cigar Law · Partner/Owner at H New Media
the notifications identify you.

Chris Lozeau · IT Technician at Dovelands Primary School
What notifications?

Rohith Raj · GITAM University
Why isn't there a like button for fruits? Hate the discrimination against fruits :(

Scott Yates · Top Commenter · CEO at BlogMutt

The change to FB comments has been great for eliminating the trolls, but worse because of the lack of nested comments. Now it will just be worse on top of worse.

Tundey Akinsanya · Top Commenter · George Mason
"...your irrational hatred of a certain author..." oh please. Just say "irrational hatred of MG Seigler" We all know it's him.

Amit Shaked · Top Commenter
Hmmm... installed teh add-on but I still can't see how I switch from my facebook ID to a fruit.

Dave Strauss · Top Commenter · Toronto, Ontario
Can someone please invent a Chrome extension called re-faceable to expose all the trolls?

Jennifer Tucker · Top Commenter · Clovis, California
No it's cool, spam gets even better posted by variations of fruit...

Amarendra Kumar · Top Commenter · National Institute of Technology Patna
Any such thing for Firefox?

Anka Baik · Jakarta, Indonesia
Nice info.. thx for share...

Brisborne Flowers · Truman State University
But will it blend?

San Guinario Pérez
