I actually finished the review, but yeah: Paper Mario is really great. Of course, not at all a platformer like SMB, but its a very good RPG game based on the Mario universe.

John Biggs how many hours do you think SM3DL could take to finish? I have a DSi, which is "fairly new" (2 years old, but considering my 5 year old Xbox 360 still gets a lot of play...), so I don't think I'll be getting a 3DS any time soon. Kinda frustrating that Nintendo isn't getting these out for the DSi, or made the jump to other platforms (*ahem*, iOS)

What up with the Paper Mario/Strikers hate? There have been some second-rate Mario games but the entire Mario RPG series is fantastic and Strikers is a blast.

I think it's a pretty good sign that there are so many good Mario games that people have to hate on critically acclaimed entries. Some people who love the 2D platformers but not the 3D ones. I even know people who play only Mario Kart and Mario Party. There's no way to please everyone.

Very true. I'd never play Mario Kart if I didn't have a 5-year-old in the house. I'd play the heck out of the platformers.
