Hands-On With Windows Phone 7
Francisco Javier Lopez · Top Commenter · Zendesk Admin at Versata
If you for 1 second EVER doubted microsofts strength in penetrating a market- xbox 360 and now WP7 will surely make you think twice about courting them out the field.
WP7 is a marvelous development platform. Organized and the entire UX is simply gorgeous. I dropped my iPhone 4 for the samsung focus and for the time in 4 years (switching between IOS & Android) I finally found a device that caters perfectly to my communication needs while seamlessly providing the experience natively.

agreed. best phone ive ever used. android is a piece of junk with no thought whatsoever put into it. a menu button? in 2011? i still rmember when android phones shipped with trackballs, crappy touch screens, and directional pads. might as well add a stylus and floppy disk drive too.

also there is an error in the article: "These are Microsoft’s initial stabs at attacking the mid-range market " Focus S is a high end phone. It is the best phone money can currently buy.
Tim Richardson · University of Melbourne
Well, it does at least have a front-facing camera. So it's possibly the best Windows Phone 7.5 that money can buy.

Maybe win phone os will be more attractive if they re-brand IE, even better get rid of it for good. IE is a damaged brand and no matter what MS does it still sucks (coming from web developer point of view) and every time I see Win Phone I see this IE logo staring at me...
John Fernandez
ie is one of their STRONGEST brands. do you realize how many people use IE because they believe the "blue e" is synonymos with the internet? that type of brand strength is impossible to create.anyways, i love ie9 on wp7. easily the best mobile browser. (im a developer too, but im not a biased POS like other developers who wont use a browser because of a name)

I disagree. IE is a strong brand. Damaged only amongst the ones who refuse to leave the 90's. Personally I have no problems with IE9 on my laptop or windows phone.
IT/Web development background and @ the end of the day we have to cater to IE as they still hold a nice chunk of the market and mind share.
John Fernandez
Francisco Javier Lopez exactly. some people cant let go of their stigmas and irrational hatred for microsoft. its quite pathetic.

Big year for Redmond in 2012. I know I will be upgrading. Tablet, phone and laptop.

8 gigabytes of ram! That's a Microsoft rep talking?

That phone must be blazing fast

Microsoft is at its best when coming to marketing.
A giant phone right at centre of NYC makes me think how good the phone is.
check out the phones released at the event.

I think it's FAR more likely that they'll erode RIM's market share. It's not simple enough for iPhone users, and it's not tweakable enough for Android users. On the other hand, a Microsoft built platform meant primarily for quick and seamless communication is right up the corporate alley.

Windows mobile always looks so complicated. Must be hard to design when someone else has done it so well... (sent from my iphone).
John Fernandez
iphone design looks childish and juvenile. all the psuedo-realistic stuff gets old after an hour. but if you enjoy faux leather and faux paper and illustrations ,then enjoy, but dont act like the iphones a design breakthrough when it isnt.
Jared Myers · Senior Taco at Choco Taco
yeah, no one said anything about a breakthrough besides you. strange..
