Google+: Search Actually, Searches For “Google+” Are Petering Out | TechCrunch
@Bobson Anders
If they Petered out, then how did they Griffin'd in?
@Shanmuga Subramanian
My predictions are coming true! Suggestion for Google to win users : Google+ won't be able to beat facebook until they integrate all of their products into Google+..Integrate docs, bookmarks, calendar etc into Google+ on the sidebar! Then no one can beat Google+! Make it as single storehouse for all user data!
@Sidian Jones
I very much agree. Cool thing is, they are doing exactly this. I'm actually a little excited for the future of G+.
@Max Woolf
And how would that change anything? Google *already* is a single storehouse, hence their cloud computing initiative.
@Shanmuga Subramanian
Max Woolf The problem is they don't integrate each and everything into Google + Bookmarking : I am using facebook for storing my bookmarks *separately* because it's more easier when compared with others (It's much easier for me to retrieve bookmarks in FB ) Diary: I am also using it as personal diary to store my ideas,personal events and quotes etc.,using notes Calendar: I would love to have one such feature on facebook! The problem with G+ is clicking on Calendar leads to a different UI..That's not real integration.(It leads to a new page) ..The calendar needs to load within the same page..same is the case with mail and all other stuff!
@Miad Hoque
That sort on integration combined with a single Google mobile app would be fantastic.
@John S. Wilson
Part of that could be attributed to the fact Google has stuffed G+ down our throats -- in gmail, google reader, displayed prominently on the Google homepage, and everywhere in between so folks are searching for it less as they click on it from other Google properties.
@Max Woolf
Correct.
@Erick Schonfeld
and yet they Google "google" all the time http://www.google.com/insights/search/#q=google%2B%2Ctwitter%2Cgoogle%2Cgmail&date=today%2012-m&cmpt=q
@John S. Wilson
Erick Schonfeld Ha. Now that's interesting. Good point!
@Eric Feng
Erick Schonfeld, clever, but I look up "google" often, when doing research on the company. Google's a big enough brand name. I noticed this yesterday when looking up "internship interviews" versus "google interviews" â the latter wins. lies, damned lies, and statistics. :) http://www.google.com/insights/search/#q=internship%20interviews%2Cgoogle%20interviews&date=today%2012-m&cmpt=q PS: I do think you're right though. Google+ interest is definitely down.
@Marcin Zamojski
Terms like Facebook, Google, and Twitter are inflated by 'lucky guesses' in the address bar.
@James Mallison
I searched Google+ a lot during their 'peak' because I was integrating their API with my University project. As soon as I finished and stopped searching, their peak fell to a trough. Coincidence? I think not. Sorry Google+!
@Tim Richardson
Google+!, what's that? An even better shiny new thing, is it?
@Issac Osis
Because people know the URL maybe, maybe people are searching for "Google Plus", or maybe when they go to google they see this "+You" in the top right corner and think "that maybe how I access Google Plus" - this the funniest non story I have seen this month.
@Luka Foo
wrong. If that would be the case, ppl wouldn't search for twitter, fb so much more than g+.
@Issac Osis
Luka Foo This indicates dumb people who search for twitter, facebook because they don't know how to use their address bar or how to bookmark. (see the "facebook login" story from a few years back when a rww article outranked the "facebook login" google result).
@Barry Le Bombe
Issac Osis Wow, it's almost 2012 and you still got pwnd

Google should have accepted every business into Google+ that wanted to promote their services from day one. Google made a critical error by discriminating against businesses. However, I still like Google's aggregated news. I think it is fantastic. http://tiny.cc/cr90f
@Roger Williams
Let's help it! http://lmgtfy.com/?q=google+%2B
@Michael Hodge
It is simply the name that was chosen, Google+, my thought in the beginning and my thought's now. I am on Google + and I just love all the Google candy they offer you, to build and make connection. Awesome is to weak of a word to describe Google + but the name should fade out and fade into, what? what? what? what? it's the name.....
@Reynard P Baillou
Regarding the popularity of the product I think they waited too long from the invite stage to the everybody stage. They were already late concerning facebook. Seeing as you would have to pry people away and all that entails; good luck. Another thing; google does a poor job of explaining what these not so apparent tools do and their benefits over what's already available.. I've watched a few of their videos on things like Buzz and was left with; huh? Google isn't the only big name like that tho'. I still wonder why Adobe had Imageready and why we have Fireworks. Don't I have Photoshop?
@Thomas Hawk
How many new Android devices is google activating a day now? I thought it was 600,000 a day and then I heard Andy Rubin say this week that it was 700,000 a day now. http://goo.gl/2GR3J http://goo.gl/n4ND4
@Barry Le Bombe
How many people care? Zero.
@Danny Jimi
I thought you don't need to search for Google+ on google.com coz when you open google.com, Google+ is already there on the black bar.. +you?
