OkCandidate Snags OkCupid’s Approach, Tells You Who To Vote For | TechCrunch
@Frank Derpton
Making voting like online dating is a good idea, cuz online dating works so awesome. amirite? Cooper Krall Kitty Ichi.
@Rudy Stewtopia
Meant to reply directly to you and I totally agree.
@Tundey Akinsanya
Like online dating, this is not mandatory. Nor is it the only way to determine your candidate or dating partner. Just another tool that *can* be used.
@Frank Derpton
Tundey Akinsanya That makes sense.
@James Altucher
I hope it works as well. For several reasons: A) the traditional method of voting hasn't worked. The last good president we've elected is probably George Washington B) I met my wife, who I am madly in love with, via online dating.
@Rudy Stewtopia
Frank Derpton I totally agree.
@Randy Stewart
Oh boy, dating and voting are pretty different.
@Jay Zalowitz
Hi, we are actually open source.. I will post the github when I get home, you can see for yourself exactly how we work.
@Jay Zalowitz
https://github.com/albertsun/okcandidate The candidates answers as we researched them to be are located more specifically at https://github.com/albertsun/okcandidate/blob/master/r.js We included explanations (either in quote form, or in link form) at the tail of each candidate answers in this. We assigned importance on the same relative scale you do, so for example, if it would be incredibly important we gave it a imp. of 250. If you are a candidate and disagree with what we put on there, let us know, we will gladly change. the team was: Albert Sun (albertsun.info) Daniel Bachhuber (danielbachhuber.com) Ashwin Shandilya Jay Zalowitz (jayzalowitz.com)
@Chuck Van Court
A great tool for dumb, lazy people who do not understand the importance of their vote and are willing to be directed by questionable algorithms easily subject to manipulation for the right price. Pitiful.
@Enes HoÅgör
I don't know if they're related to the OkCandidate team but this has been done. Am I missing something? http://electnext.com/
@James Altucher
Jay, great job. I think so many people lose track of the issues. This is a start. And thanks for making it open source via github.
@Davis Smith
ElectNext is doing this already. You guys wrote about them a month ago: http://techcrunch.com/2011/11/07/dreamit-backed-electnext-launches-an-eharmony-for-voters/.

www.VotingAid.com is another one, it was released Thursday. VotingAid was made by a Finnish enterprise named ZEF Solutions. They've produced the most popular apps of this kind for five straight elections in Finland, once drawing 1,4 million users (out of 5,4 million citizens).
