That seems like a piece of technology, if it actually works, that could be more usefully applied elsewhere than a generic location-based gimmick startup.

I think dropost.it's technology would pair nicely with one of the mobile payments start ups (...maybe Square). Not so sure about it's potential as a stand-alone though.
