When Zynga meets Chatroulette: 6Rounds

Eric Peters
Reminds me of scrabb.ly http://www.startupmonkeys.com/2010/09/building-a-scrabble-mmo-in-48-hours/ or what evolved into WordSquared (http://www.wordsquared.com/).

umm.. won't this get a C&D from Hasbro? Looks too much like Scrabble!

Looks like Zynga learnt from what happened to Scrabulous and avoided some silly mistakes like using Scrabble in the name, linking to official Hasbro rules for Scrabble and noting in their website that it is a place to "play free Scrabble". Also helps that there are no Triple Word Boxes on the 4 corners I suppose :-) http://www.thelegality.com/2008/01/23/does-scrabbles-cd-spell-the-end-of-scrabulous/

If you took a picture of "words with friends" and a picture of a Scrabble(r) board and showed them to a "reasonable person" they would instantly believe they were the same thing. Perhaps Hasbro is simply waiting for Words with Friends to be making enough money that Zenga won't just close it down and THEN they file.

Can't wait looks great very Scrabble like but the layout on the board looks different and no doubt there will be other differences.

Uh oh. More fuel for my addiction. Thanks a lot, Zynga.

Looks like we are going to see revamps of old games to the web. Are they still developing this on top of flash ?
