The implications of this feature are huge.
I think/hope we are going to see a big spike in popularity because of this.

It does suck that the shares are limited to 250 users... and followers are still capped to 5000.

"in case any of you are still using google+".
between you and siegler, I swear..snark sandwiches all day long..
it seems that as of today google+ is up to 50 million users..time to get there? 88 days. I know you say 'i kid', but you know the saying..'there's a little bit of truth to everything you say'.
details of google+ membership surge after the jump: http://bit.ly/nTIrqm.

I highly doubt all those 50 million users are active users, you know. Half of them probably just created an account to see the buzz and never did anything with it again.

If Facebook did this, all the commentors would probably be trashing it and talking about all the privacy implications but, because Google does it, it's suddenly an amazing thing. Got to love the the hypocrisy of Techcrunch and their commenters.

The sharing is not going to be done to everyone and the names of the circle is not going to be shared. What is going to be shared is a list of people. What is wrong with that?

Sweet, this is the kind of feature I wanted to have, so that I could more easily integrate g+ into a class setting...however, there still isn't a simple way to filter out posts that aren't directed at a circle (say I'm using this for a class or learning community: everyone's public posts are going to be shared with that circle as well, which can drown out the relevant posts w/ other noise).

Sorry, maybe it's just me, but I never felt the need to share (comparing to the Facebook equivalent) a custom list of my friends with someone. If this is in any way a tool to suggest new people to a new person on Google Plus, then well, seems like there are far more important features that are missing in Google Plus right now.

As much as I generally like Google they clearly don't understand the social space. This feature is complex and useless. What is the point of sharing a circle if it can't be co-edited? I suspect this is a just a step towards joint owned circles. Still I'd rather they wait till a feature is useful before they launch it.

Sry but when it comes down to socialization? Google+ destroy facebook in its eintirety, the fact that most people ain't there yet do lack over Google but that comes with time, doesn;t it?...
Else this is for those wanting to share a circle or an amount of person with their friends for a first time, I believe that is the only way I going to use this feature, to welcome new friends with interesting people to circle.

It's possible they are trying to also see how people use this type of feature (or hopefully yell about how they'd like to use this feature) and optimize it accordingly. I think you'd expect an iterative approach especially if Google doesn't "understand the social space," right?

Looking at the screenshot, I have to say that Google keeps ignoring web design... and having used Google+, the ui/ux is how any not-very-creative person would have built it. Google-- for me and no more time wasted on that thing...

Seems odd that is only shares a snapshot and doesn't update when you change the circle. It would be good to give people the option to have public circles on their profile for interesting people you follow etc.

An awesome idea because there are many photography lists that can be converted to a circle that is easily shared. It will definitely save me time and effort.

Cool, I guess. Too bad + is dead and has been for a while now. The only people left are spammers and super tech types. Just pull the plug on it already.
