I can't get damn Disqus to work on my page, even after inserting the code. I use Tumblr and it just doesn't come out right. I'd like it to look exactly like this. :)

The code for creating blockquotes -- for when you’re quoting another
commenter or material from another site (use minimally in both cases)

How do we post live links

You can just paste them into a comment, like so:

http://www.example.com

Or use regular HTML:

Check out my cool link!

Click on that minus sign, and it will collapse that thread, and you’ll see something that looks like this: “21 comments collapsed. Expand” with a plus sign to the right of it. Click on the plus sign, and you expand the thread again. Now you can explore one thread at a time.
It does make a comment zone more compact, but, unlike whatever method is used by LiveJournal (the only other place I have spent loads of time that has something similar), Disqus only has the avatar pic of the commenter who started the thread, not the username, and no part of the comment they wrote. So, except that we can tell where a particular thread begins and ends, it doesn't help with the overall following.

Hi Maryann - Ro from Disqus here. FYI, you can use our ready-made widgets to show things like recent comments, popular threads and top commenters. You can grab the code for them in the Tools section of the admin panel.

You can also use our API: http://disqus.com/api to surface these sorts of things and much more.

I'm already using that widget, Ro. And the "popular threads" listing is NOT the same thing as MT's "recently commented on" option... not when a thread whose last comment was 3 days ago is listed way above a thread whose last comment was 1 hour ago.

Also (since you're listening :-> ), it should be possible to list many more recent comments -- like, say, 100, instead of 20.

I'm not a programmer, so I can't use the API functionality. I'm sure it's very cool, though.

She already has that here. I think what she's referring to is comments on recent comments in a thread, not the recent comments to a particular post by her.
